SOUTH AFRICAN POWERLIFTING FEDERATION

Gauteng Powerlifting Federation is proud to be hosting world champion Ielja Strik from Netherlands at our upcoming National Bench Press Championships on 28 February 2009. Ielja holds numerous world championship titles and records. She has been in SA for an intensive three week training camp at the Grand Masters Barbell Club, in preparation for the upcoming World and European Championships, and then World Games in July 2009. Ielja is currently rated 1st in the world IPF rankings, and has done so for the last few years. She is the current IPF world record holder for the 90kg bench press division at 182.5kg. Ielja will be attempting to break her own record here at our SA National Championships.
