SAPF INCENTIVE BADGE SCHEME and QUALIFYING STANDARDS
The SAPF uses a table where an athlete's weight class together with the athlete's powerlifting total are used to categorise athletes ranging form the colour yellow through to Elite 4 at the other end. The achievement of a certain colour standard is required for a lifter to qualify for certain competitions as well as provincial or national colours.

The Incentive Badge and Qualifying Stanards tables have been adjusted to cater for the change in Women's weight divisions with effect from 1 January 2021.

2025-12-22 : With effect from 1 January 2026, the standard required for Master 3 and Master 4 lifters to compete in the SA Championships, will be to have competed in a corresponding Provincial Championship and posted a total. This applies to all genders and disciplines (Male and Female, Classic and Equipped, Powerlifting and Bench Press)
